a sound project at the sharjah biennial by the group e-xplo (heimo lattner, erin mcgonigle und rene gabri). the artists recorded songs of immigrant workers in their native language and places speakers though out the city. this project was made in light of the dismal lack of rights of migrant workers in the united arab emirates. unions, almost all types of strikes and any political activity is prohibited. nearly 99 percent of the workforce in the private sector are foreigners who can be deported immediately.
